About Bolton

Bolton is a town in the north-west of England. Located near the West Pennine Moors, it is the largest settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton in Greater Manchester.

Lying within the historic boundaries of Lancashire (it was part of Lancashire only until 1974), the town rose to prominence during the 19th century as a mill town. About Wigan

Wigan is a town in Greater Manchester, North West England. The town is the largest settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, and lies within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire. The town is roughly equidistant from the cities of Manchester, Preston and Liverpool. Wigan is neighboured by the towns of Leigh, St Helens, Bolton, Chorley and Warrington.
