Bryn Cross Surgery
We are a relatively small provincial practice situated on the outskirts of Wigan town centre, we have traditionally had a very good relationship with our patients and we try to promote a friendly relaxed atmosphere within the practice.
Our aim is to give the highest standard of care to our patients and deal swiftly with any problems that may occur. The practice team consists of three doctors, two practice nurses, a practice manager, receptionists and a site manager. Our district nurses, midwives and health visitor are all based at Ashton clinic situated near to the surgery.
The practice team consists of dedicated individuals who work hard to provide patients with the best possible primary care. We provide a wide selection of clinics within the surgery for our patients. In addition there are a number of out of practice services available in the area.
We hope that we can guide and encourage reflection, self awareness and growth. We hope to offer a challenging and exciting environment in which the Registrar can build on their existing knowledge, so that when they leave they will have the confidence and ability to practise safely whilst also recognising the need to ask for help.
During their time spent in this practice, we hope that the Registrar will be able to see how important teamwork is and feel that they have become an important part of our team. We hope the Registrar will be able to see the pleasure and satisfaction of General Practice as well as developing the strategies needed to deal with all of the stresses and strains.
We hope to provide an appropriate learning environment in which the Registrar can successfully complete Summative Assessment and provide a teaching programme in consultation with the Registrar designed to meet the Registrar's specific needs.
We want the Registrar to be fully involved in the work at the practice but we do not expect them to be equivalent to a partner with regard to workload.
We hope that the Registrar will spend a productive and enjoyable year with us.
